VIDEO: JD Martinez Utterly Pulverizes Inside Fastball to Give Red Sox the Lead Back

I'm not sure I've ever seen a major league hitter more "on" a ball than JD Martinez was right here. CC Sabathia tried to come inside one pitch after jamming Xander Bogaerts on a 2-0 offering, and Martinez rocketed it over the Monster and into the billboards at a far higher velocity than it entered the zone.

This pitch wasn't nearly far enough in -- Martinez went and got it, very much knowing exactly what was coming. The horsehide was just the latest victim in Boston's return to machine-like offense. Down 2-1 entering this frame, Rafael Devers served one into left with a flick, and Martinez took this inside fastball to the actual moon.
