VIDEO: Jean Segura Launches Home Run to Tie Phillies Up With Brewers
By Adam Godfrey
The Milwaukee Brewers took an early 1-0 lead over the Philadelphia Phillies after an RBI single from Ryan Braun in the top of the first inning. In the bottom of the first, however, Phillies shortstop Jean Segura changed the narrative, launching a solo home run to left center field to tie the game up heading into the second inning.
Segura's third home run of the season put the Phillies and the Brewers back even after the first inning. Heading into the game, he had 16 RBI on 40 hits, and had a .308 batting average so far this season for the best team in the NL East.
The Phillies are just behind the Chicago Cubs and the Los Angeles Dodgers for first place in the National League, with the Brewers not too far behind Philadelphia in the race, as they head into the third game of their series.
To kick off a big game against two of the top teams in the National League, you need a special person to throw out a great first pitch, right? Bruce Willis is certainly a special person, but he may not have gotten the memo on the great first pitch part.
