VIDEO: Jeff McNeil Admits He Was Upset by All-Star Game Scoreboard Screwup
By Brendan Azoff

The New York Mets must have some voodoo curse on them, as every time something negative happens around baseball it appears that they are somehow associated with it. The latest example occurred during the MLB All-Star game, when the Progressive Field scoreboard showed Jacob deGrom's picture during Jeff McNeil's at-bat.

McNeil, who has quietly become one of the best hitters in baseball, was clearly bummed by the gaffe and rightfully so. Very few major leaguers have the privilege to play in the All-Star game, and when they do, they want to have the recognition they rightfully deserve. The misplaced image is almost a slap in the face to McNeil who worked his tail off to get to that point.
Jeff McNeil was not pleased that the scoreboard showed deGrom while he batted. Said that he and his family were excited to see him on the board during an all star game

You can picture his family in attendance with their phones out, ready to capture the moment, just to be blindsided by the wrong image being portrayed next to McNeil's name on the board.
It was an unfortunate error, one that should not have been made, and one that may have taken the juice out of a moment that most people can only dream of having.
