VIDEO: Jeff McNeil Hilariously Dedicates Friday Night's Home Run to Puppy He Held Before Game
By Karl Rasmussen

Jeff McNeil spent some time with an adorable puppy ahead of the Mets game on Friday night, and it seems their brief interaction was enough to make the rookie become attached. Well, he's in the process of persuading his wife to allow him to adopt the puppy, and in doing so, he hit a three-run home run in the game, which he then dedicated to the pup post game.

The fact that he went bridge for the little puppy not only makes McNeil our new favorite player in the league, but has us hoping his wife allows him to bring his new pal home.
And he thinks that getting his wish could bring some more power to his bat, which he mentioned in a comment directed towards his wife.
PUPDATE: Jeff McNeil insists the reason why he hit a home run tonight is because he held a puppy earlier in the day. He said if his wife wants him to hit more home runs going forward, she should agree to adopt the puppy.

"It's not about me," McNeil said. "It's about the puppy."
McNeil definitely deserves a reward for his outstanding play, as he paces all of the big leagues with his .340 batting average.
