Somebody in the Bay Area call Animal Control...because there has been a flying squirrel sighting at Oracle Park. Jeff McNeil, the MLB's leading hitter and the Mets' defensive leaderboard champ (in terms of runs saved), was out here defying physics against the Giants on Sunday. Check out the All-Star utility man make quite simply a remarkable leaping catch while crashing into the right field wall:

The California native might not fancy his popular Flying Squirrel nickname, but he embodied the label to the utmost perfection here.
Once considered a significant liability on defense, McNeil continues to defy the odds and give Queens something to cheer about in a lost season.
