VIDEO: Jimmy Butler Pays Comical Tribute to Neymar at Heat Media Day Photo Shoot
By Michael Luciano
After signing a four-year $140 million max deal in the offseason, Jimmy Butler announced his arrival as the franchise player for Pat Riley, Erik Spoelstra, and the Miami Heat. At Heat Media Day on Monday, Jimmy Buckets decided to show off his unique personality with a shoutout to Paris Saint Germain superstar Neymar with a cheeky nod to the Brazilian legend during an afternoon photo shoot.
Butler has always had a bit of a gregarious and outgoing personality, even compared to other star players in the NBA, and this all but confirms as much. Who knew Butler was a big Ligue 1 fan?
Maybe this is an elaborate plan to get Neymar to join David Beckham's new MLS side, Inter Miami, as a designated player? If so, nice job of playing chess instead of checkers by Riley and the Heat.
Given the state of the Miami roster after the team was gutted in order to bring him in, Butler better be as dominant in the court as Neymar is on the pitch for the Heat to stand a chance this season.
