We all should've known something was going on when Houston Astros ace Justin Verlander said he recently watched the movie "Fever Pitch." Last week during All-Star Game festivities in Cleveland, a number of top MLB stars gave some answers to media questions that were, ummm, interesting. Now we know why, as late night comedian Jimmy Fallon passed along some weird statements and phrases for certain players to feed to the media. Take a look:

Of all the head-scratching, out-of-nowhere phrases that were uttered, Los Angeles Dodgers starter Clayton Kershaw saying "scribble with the nibble" has to be the most ridiculous of all. You think he had to right that down and really think about it beforehand? Because he sounds like a natural.

Did anyone understand CC Sabathia's phrase about “don’t ask the milkman for steak?” That only makes sense if you're standing upside down on your head, but he delivered it without hesitating. Nice job, CC.
