VIDEO: JJ Watt Kicks Off World Series With Electric 'Play Ball!' Call
By Adam Weinrib
The Houston Astros don't need much additional motivation to chase their second World Series title in three years, but by gosh, they got a little extra boost from powerful defensive end JJ Watt on Tuesday night. Just before first pitch, Watt took the mic and rocked it to get the Minute Maid Park crowd another level of juiced up prior to Gerrit Cole's trip to the mound.
Truly a professional wrestler in the making, that Watt. "Are you ready for the World Series?!" Didn't you just hear a little Rock in him?
Watt may not have a GM right now, but his Texans have been just fine without one, and the city is rocking. Maybe he'll just keep pulling motivational double duty?
Of course, the 'Stros responded to Watt's challenge by scoring in the first inning, immediately getting the crowd to a fever pitch. It's already over. Was over before it started. This is the year.
