VIDEO: Joc Pederson Clobbers 2nd Bomb of Game as Dodgers Build Lead Over Rockies
By Michael Luciano
For the first time in his professional career, Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Joc Pederson has hit 30 home runs. After taking Colorado Rockies starter Peter Lambert deep earlier in the game, Pederson obliterated a Yency Almonte meatball for homer No. 30. The Dodgers took an 8-4 lead over their division rival.
Pederson might only be hitting .239 this year, but he's been red hot over his last few games, hitting three home runs in his last four at-bats and the only non-homer being a double that might have gone out if the dimensions didn't take it away from him.
While the Rockies pitching staff is pitching at their usual subpar level, Pederson has been tearing the cover off of the ball, which is exactly what the Dodgers wanted to see as October comes closer.
Unfortunately he went down with an injury while making a defensive web gem and robbing Charlie Blackmon of a homer.
