VIDEO: Joc Pederson Hits Dodgers 250th Home Run of Season to Set National League Record

Joc Pederson feasts on right-handed pitching, and supplied two more bombs on Wednesday night to help the Dodgers set a new National League record for home runs. That's right, in the year of the home run, both the AL and NL records have fallen. The Twins struck first just days ago, and now LA can celebrate a monumental accomplishment thanks to Joc.

All 32 of Pederson's home runs this season have been hit off of right-handed pitchers, which isn't necessarily surprising given his reputation against lefties. Pederson has long struggled against left-handed pitching, but his extraordinary power forces the Dodgers to keep him around despite his deficiencies.

The Dodgers have now passed the 2000 Houston Astros, a team which hit 249 home runs in the middle of the steroid era.

Los Angeles has greater goals in mind, and their power combined with a filthy rotation featuring the likes of Walker Buehler, Hyun-Jin Ryu and some guy named Clayton Kershaw will make them a tough out come playoff time, regardless of their previous reputation.
