VIDEO: Joe Buck Oddly Praises Mitchell Trubisky for Throwing Simple Pass on Hitch Route
By Sean Facey
This is video and audio evidence of just how bad the quarterback play has gotten for the Chicago Bears. In the third quarter of Thursday's game against the Dallas Cowboys, Mitchell Trubisky tossed a rather mediocre pass out to the flat on a hitch route that ended up in a touchdown following the run, but from Joe Buck's call, you'd think it was a deep ball 50 yards downfield in the waning seconds of the game. Seriously, dude?
It's beyond pathetic that this qualifies as a "good throw" from Trubisky.
There was nothing difficult about it. As an NFL quarterback, he's absolutely supposed to make that pass. Anything other than a completion is a downright disappointment.
This is the guy who has played so poorly, that he's being praised for doing the bare minimum. We will give Mitchell credit, though, as he played great against Dallas. Still, this is the NFL. He should be making this kinds of throws with his eyes closed.
