VIDEO: Joe Musgrove Gets Pirates on the Board With Huge RBI Single Against Phillies
By Scott Rogust
The Pittsburgh Pirates rolled over the Cincinnati Reds during Players' Weekend, and on Monday, started their "Battle for Pennsylvania" against the in-state rival Philadelphia Phillies. Pirates starting pitcher Joe Musgrove surrendered a two-run home run to Brad Miller early on in the bottom of the fourth inning, but quickly turned that negative into a positive, by putting the Pirates on the board with an RBI single off Phillies pitcher Jason Vargas.
Sometimes, you just have to do things yourself, and Joe Musgrove pulled a page out of the Thanos playbook, smacking that ball off the outfield wall. The defense held him to just one base, but still, Musgrove provided a spark for the Pirates offense all on his own.
