VIDEO: Joey Gallo Slugs 1st Career Grand Slam and Then Makes Incredible Diving Catch to End Game
By Karl Rasmussen
Joey Gallo had himself an evening on Friday. He slugged his first career grand slam, an absolute moonshot to straightaway center field against the Royals. It was gone the second it left the bat, as you could see the power he got behind that swing.
Well, despite accounting for four of the Rangers' six runs, Gallo wasn't done with his key contributions. Not necessarily known for his defensive prowess, the 25-year-old showcased his fielding abilities by making a slick diving catch in the top of the ninth.
Oh, did I mention that it was to end the game? What better way to cap off the day than to sprawl out for a sensational diving grab that ends the game for the team?
Sorry, Billy Hamilton. Gallo wasn't going to let anything put a damper on his evening, as he lifted the Rangers to their 28th victory of the season.
