VIDEO: Johan Camargo Propels Braves to Victory With 2-Run Pinch Hit Homer in Extra Innings
By Ryan Flores
The Washington Nationals bullpen got hit hard once again. In the top of the 10th inning, Atlanta Braves do-it-all operator Johan Camargo delivered a clutch two-run bomb off of Tanner Rainey, putting the visitors up 4-2.
Rainey committed the ultimate pitching sin and paid the price for it. You shouldn't pitch a lefty like Camargo low and inside, as he's going to completely smoke it.
The timing couldn't have been better for the first-place Braves, who had squandered a slim 2-0 advantage in a game that forced them to rely heavily on their bullpen following the untimely exit of starter Mike Soroka, who took a ball off his forearm. Camargo's big shot turned out to be the last word in this one, with Luke Jackson closing out the Nats in the bottom half of the 10th to give the Braves the win-- and a 6.5-game advantage in the National League East.
