VIDEO: Jon Lester Has Hilarious NSFW Comment After Cardinals' Jack Flaherty Dominates Cubs
By Thomas Carannante
When you get completely shutdown by the opposing starting pitcher, this is one of the few responses there is you can make. The St. Louis Cardinals took the series and the NL Central lead from the Cubs on Thursday night after Jack Flaherty completely shut down Chicago's lineup. Jon Lester, who was on the hill for the Cubbies and didn't exactly perform up to expectations, knew he and his team got owned and had a very candid assessment of it after the game.
We can't say he's wrong. Flaherty tossed seven scoreless frames and gave up just one hit and two walks while striking out nine. The Cards' bullpen then finished the last two innings and didn't allow a hit or a walk.
Understandably, Lester is frustrated considering how terribly the Cubs play away from Wrigley Field. It's beginning to become a serious problem.
Cubs fans can only hope the Cardinals don't shove anything more up there as Chicago heads into the final two months of the season.
