VIDEO: Jose Ramirez and Carlos Santana Extend Indians Lead Over Yankees With 2-Run Homers
By Scott Rogust
The Cleveland Indians made themselves at home in the Bronx on Thursday, as evidenced by their seven-run first inning against the New York Yankees. After hitting a grand slam to start things off, Jose Ramirez added to the Yankee fans' misery by hitting a two-run bomb off reliever Jonathan Loaisiga in the second inning, extending their lead to 9-1.
In case you were wondering if the Indians would take it easy with their already hefty lead, you thought wrong.
In the fourth inning, slugger Carlos Santana added two more runs to the scoreboard with a bomb to right-center field off Chance Adams.
The Cleveland Indians made a strong first impression against the New York Yankees, who happen to hold the best record in the American League.
