VIDEO: Josh Bell Hits Home Run into Allegheny River for Second Time This Season
By Scott Rogust
Josh Bell of the Pittsburgh Pirates has been on fire ever since the start of the season. Entering Wednesday night against the Colorado Rockies, Bell had 13 home runs on the season. In the bottom of the first inning, Bell crushed his 14th of the season off Rockies pitcher Jon Gray, and it flew all the way out of PNC Park and into the Allegheny River.
Bell is now the first player to ever hit two baseballs into the Allegheny River on the fly. He hit one earlier this month against the Texas Rangers, and followed it up with the moon shot on Wednesday.
At this pace, we should expect the Pirates first baseman to add to that total throughout the season.
