With a 5-4 lead entering the top of the ninth inning, the Phillies confidently called out Hector Neris to produce a save. Manager Gabe Kapler's idea didn't turn out as planned, with Pirates slugger Josh Bell crushing a massive solo homer to dead center field to tie things up.
