VIDEO: JT Realmuto and Bryce Harper Come up Big for Phillies With Monster Home Runs
By Michael Luciano
You just couldn't knuckle down and hold on to that lead, Rockies bullpen! Colorado's subpar unit has been victimized by two clutch home runs off the bats of JT Realmuto and Bryce Harper. Realmuto, originally schedule for a day off with Andrew Knapp behind the plate, blasted a pinch hit, game-tying home run off of Bryan Shaw.
In that very same inning, Harper rook Rockies lefty Mike Dunn deep to right center for his ninth home run in a Phils uniform. This turned a 5-3 Rockies lead into a 7-5 advantage for the home team.
While Realmuto has performed up to billing after coming over from Miami in the offseason, Harper has stumbled out of the gate, hitting just .230 with an unsightly 61 strikeouts in 45 games coming into today. However, he's seen the ball really well in the Colorado series and could be turning the corner.
When you leave two meatballs right in the middle of the plate against a couple of sweet-swinging All-Stars, this is what happens, Rockies.
