VIDEO: Juan Soto Drills Massive Solo Shot Off Gerrit Cole Fastball After His Coach Predicted it
By Adam Weinrib
Did it just get young in here? Juan Soto has shown remarkable poise all postseason long (you probably picked up on this by now, but he's 20 years old), drilling a game-tying absolute blast against Clayton Kershaw in the biggest moment of Washington's season to date. This shouldn't shock you, but he started off the World Series in much the same fashion, going oppo this time to rock Gerrit Cole's world and tie the game.
Checkmate, sir. Turns out, you're hittable. Your team's bullpen may be in a better position than Washington's, but you don't have a lead any longer.
As if this feat couldn't be more impressive, it turns out hitting coach Kevin Long called this exact scenario yesterday, according to the broadcast. Long told those who'd listen on Monday that the 20-year-old Soto planned to tomahawk a high Cole fastball out of the yard. Four innings later, point proven.
