VIDEO: Juan Soto Launches Solo Shot off Gerrit Cole as Nationals Finally Get on the Board
By Karl Rasmussen
The Nationals offense had been held in check by Gerrit Cole through six innings, but they finally found some life in the bottom of the seventh. And who else would supply the magic other than Juan Soto? The recently-turned 21-year-old smacked a wall-scraper into the seats out in center field, narrowly escaping the reach of Jake Marisnick.
Soto wasn't about to see his team get blanked at their home field, and with his blast maybe the Nats can pick up the slack here in the late innings.
Cole has proven near impossible to hit on Sunday night, but Soto found a way to get a run across the plate.
