VIDEO: Juan Soto Leaves Game With Leg Injury After Late Stop Sign From Nationals 3rd Base Coach
By Mark Powell
The Washington Nationals just can't seem to get out of their own way right now. In the first of a series of comical errors in which they were somehow, mercifully able to escape relatively unscathed, Juan Soto injured his leg rounding third base. The 20-year-old Dominican superstar was given a very late stop sign by Nats third base coach Bob Henley, and as a result appeared to twist his ankle, or something of the sort.
Soto was removed from the game after a lengthy on-field delay, a sight Nationals fans can ill-afford to even believe right now, given it was essentially self-inflicted.
With Washington and the Mets battling for an NL Wild Card spot, every injury counts double, especially if it involves one of the best young studs in the game in Soto.
On the season, Soto is hitting .289 with 24 home runs and 77 RBI, making all of Nats nation forget all about that Bryce Harper guy in the process.
