VIDEO: Justin Verlander Finally Opened His Mouth About Astros' Sign-Stealing Scandal and We Couldn't Care Less
By Michael Luciano
Justin Verlander is one of the most outspoken players in the league, as his Twitter account is full of his daily ramblings about the state of baseball. However, when reached for any sort of comment about his Houston Astros running the most brazen and complex sign-stealing scandal in baseball history, you couldn't get a word out of him. He finally gave his thoughts on the scandal at Astros spring training, and he claims that he "wishes he had said more."
Oh boo hoo. If you didn't get caught, I bet you would have been just as happy to keep letting this scandal go unchecked.
Verlander, a likely future Hall of Famer and one of the elder statesman on the team, would have as much power as anyone to try and put a stop to this if he really wanted to do so. Instead, he was more than happy to let it go on, picking up a Cy Young and a championship along the way.
You can't get Verlander to stop talking when he has some minor grievance with the direction baseball is headed, but when his team is at the center of one of the biggest scandals in baseball history, he's as quiet as a church mouse.
He is just as complicit as any of the other Astros embroiled in this mess.
