VIDEO: Justin Verlander Sits Down a Mic'd up Freddie Freeman With Beautiful Slider
By Michael Luciano

In case you needed a reminder, Houston Astros starter Justin Verlander is still as nasty as they come. The 36-year-old flamethrower brought his best stuff to the 2019 All-Star Game in Cleveland, where he buckled Atlanta Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman's knees with a filthy slider to cap of a 1-2-3 first inning that also saw him retire Christian Yelich and Javier Baez.

We're only through one inning and Verlander already has had a better go of it than his only prior start in an All-Star game, when the NL jumped on him for five runs en route to a 8-0 victory in Kansas City in 2012.
This will be Justin Verlander's second time starting the #AllStarGame

His last ASG start was in 2012 when he allowed 5 earned runs in 1 inning of work https://t.co/N2khmFpmnR pic.twitter.com/7ZNydSlHs9
At least Freeman won't have to face Verlander, his triple-digit heater, or that un-hittable slider again tonight.
