VIDEO: Kawhi Leonard Being Heavily Booed Ahead of 'Home' Opener Proves LA Remains a Lakers Town
By Adam Weinrib

Sorry, Kawhi. You had your fun toying around with the Lakers' offseason plans, and you're a focal point of a genuine contender in Hollywood. But the Clippers aren't the Lakers; they're just the team that shares their building, for now. And never was that more obvious than at the Opening Night battle between both residents of the Staples Center. Kawhi Leonard tried to address the "home" fans before the first game of the most important season in their franchise's history, and Laker Nation was having NONE of it.

Cold blooded.
After the game started, the boos didn't cease; Laker fans made this feel like a midseason Rams game by showering their city's newest star with a harsh message.

Seriously. There was booing at every corner.

LOVE TO SEE IT. pic.twitter.com/7hQFzG0wxz
The Fun Guy knew what he signed up for, but still. Contrast this with the outpouring of love for the Raptors' ring ceremony north of the border, and you have to feel a little depressed.
