VIDEO: Ken Griffey Jr. Using Beautiful Swing to Hit a Piñata is Perfect Content

Even though we can't prepare ourselves for this type of disappointment, Seattle Mariners legend and Hall of Famer Ken Griffey Jr. looks ripe to step back into the MLB. He unleashed his silky smooth swing on a piñata this week, and we've got to say...the man remains legit. The venerable slugger was more than happy to give the crowd some oohs and aahs, and have some light-hearted fun himself.

These two hacks should take Mariners and Reds fans back to the days of the not-so-distant past, when Griffey was raking home runs and making insane catches in the outfield. If only he'd have dove to snag some of the candy, too, or leapt against a nearby fence. Then we'd really be mid-vapors.
In 1996 A-Rod, Ken Griffey Jr and the Mariners challenged their Singe A affiliate to a home run derby as a promotion and lost.

The piñata didn't stand a chance, as Griffey was able to get substantial amounts of movement and tearing from the poor candy-filled piece.
Nobody is asking for a comeback, but if he wanted to, Griffey likely still has it.
