VIDEO: Keston Hiura Obliterates 1st Home Run Since Returning to Brewers Roster
The Milwaukee Brewers broke the scoreless tie in the fifth inning thanks to a mammoth home run off the bat of infielder Keston Hiura.
The shot was the Brewers' top prospect's first home run since his recent return to Milwaukee, and sixth overall since being called up in the middle of May. Hiura has bounced between Triple-A and the majors, but has been a welcome addition to the roster when with the big league team.
After his initial call-up because of an injury to Travis Shaw, Hiura performed admirably, but was demoted when Shaw returned from the IL. Hiura back on the roster shortly after Shaw's return because of his impressive performance in the minors, paired with the veteran infielder's struggles.
Hiura can be a key piece for a Brewers team with World Series aspirations this year. This home run shows the power the top prospect can bring to the lineup.
On the season, Hiura is hitting .270 with six home runs and a .325 OBP in only 74 at-bats this year. The Brewers are currently tied with the Chicago Cubs at 45-39 for the top spot in the NL Central.
