VIDEO: Kevin Newman Rips Walk-off Homer as Pirates Stun Reds in Steve Blass' Final Weekend in Booth
By Karl Rasmussen

Pirates beloved broadcaster Steve Blass was treated to a final good-bye treat in his final weekend calling games for the Buccos. Down 5-4 against the Reds in the bottom of the ninth, Kevin Newman came to the plate. Having a home run under his belt already, Newman added to his tally and gave the Pirates a win with a two-run shot to walk-off the Reds. What a gift for Blass who was as stunned as the Reds when the ball left the yard.

Just as the broadcasting duo were ready to call the curtain, Newman parked the game-winner in the seats.
Newman was treated to a water cooler shower at home plate as the Pirates celebrated their victory over their division rivals.
Even with both teams not qualifying for the playoffs, after a season full of skirmishes, a walk-off victory for Pittsburgh has got to feel pretty good.
