VIDEO: Kirby Smart Has Been Absolutely on Fire at SEC Media Days When Asked About Alabama
By Brendan Azoff
Georgia has come so close to beating the superpower that is the University of Alabama these last two years, but in consecutive meetings, it has been Bama coming out on top due to brilliant performances from their backup QBs. So, what is Dawgs head coach Kirby Smart's plan to defeat Nick Saban and the Tide? Eliminate their second-string quarterbacks, of course.
Smart has been crushing it since the SEC Media Days started, especially in regards to his comments about Alabama. Nick Saban has never lost to one of his former Bama assistant coaches, sporting a perfect 16-0 record in those matchups; the Bulldogs boss is privy to that knowledge, and delivered a comedic answer to the media when asked about it.
For any team to beat the Crimson Tide, a skilled coach is needed at the helm, and Georgia certainly has that in Smart. But after disappointing results in last year's SEC Championship and the CFP national title game two seasons ago, the head coach knows that this year it is surely victory or bust for UGA when they inevitably play Alabama. Expect him to be ready.
