VIDEO: Klay Thompson Addresses Inevitable End of Warriors Dynasty
By Jerry Trotta
We're almost there, folks. A dynasty that began way back in the 2014-2015 season, a dynasty that has drawn the label of being one of the best basketball forces ever assembled, is one loss away from reaching its termination. First, Steph Curry acknowledged the daunting, unlikely task of overcoming a 3-1 deficit. And now, Klay Thompson is joining in on the pessimism, as he acknowledged the inevitable conclusion of Golden State's dynasty during Sunday's pre-Game 5 presser...though, of course, we don't know exactly when that'll be.
"I just try to enjoy the journey and it's been a very long one since we've been on this championship run which started way back in 2014," said Thompson. "You wish to have no end in sight, but everything that's great always comes to an end. Whether that's tomorrow or four years from now, you never know. You just gotta go out and enjoy every minute you do with the group of guys you got, because in professional sports, nothing is ever guaranteed."
Wow.
Is anybody else shook beyond belief? We haven't seen the Warriors in this kind of fragile, vulnerable state of mind for quite some time.
Though it feels bizarre, some are of course cherishing each and every second of their collapse. No matter are SO close to the NBA becoming a place of fair competition again -- a reality we once thought we'd never return to.
