VIDEO: Klay Thompson Clearly Upset After All-NBA Snub
By Michael Luciano
When you're trying to earn a supermax contract, the All-NBA voting means something, as one of the very specific criteria that a player has to meet is a certain number of appearances on the All-NBA team. In addition to Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal, Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson is no longer eligible for a supermax after being snubbed in the 2019 All-NBA team, specifically in favor of Kemba Walker. He seems...just a little ticked off.
Thompson averaged 21.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.4 assists while playing his trademark lockdown defense on a Warriors team that is making their fifth consecutive Finals appearance.
It's hard not to feel bad for Klay. Even if you don't believe that he should have been on the team, Thompson just lost tens of millions of dollars because of how the media voted. That just doesn't seem right.
While Klay was in line to get paid as a free agent anyway, and the Warriors are still likely to back up the Brinks truck for him, he just lost out on a supermax through no fault of his own.
