VIDEO: Knicks President and GM Hold Emotional Emergency Press Conference After Blowout Loss to Cavs
By Scott Rogust

The New York Knicks fan base had very low expectations entering the 2019-20 season following a lackluster summer. That mindset proved to be the correct one, despite all the positive talk coming out of the Knicks organization. On Sunday night, New York suffered a 108-87 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers, officially dropping eight of their first 10 games to kick off a plan-less campaign featuring steps back in every category. Sensing the panic and unrest, Knicks president Steve Mills and general manager Scott Perry held an emergency press conference following the game.
Knicks team president Steve Mills and general manager just came out after the Knicks' 21-point loss to the Cavs to address the media. To say that's a rarity is underselling. Mills expressed disappointment in the result but confidence in coaching staff and roster. pic.twitter.com/eejOTYFpm7

Despite being 2-8 on the season and getting stomped by the lowly Cavs, Mills expressed confidence in head coach David Fizdale, but said he's "not happy where we're at right now." And he shouldn't be! This roster improved at the margins, inserted a top rookie in RJ Barrett, and got worse.
Of course, it deserves to be mentioned that with hopes of landing Zion Williamson, Kevin Durant, and Kyrie Irving this offseason, the Knicks ended up with Julius Randle, Taj Gibson, and Bobby Portis. They got better, but...come on. There's depression embedded in the narrative.
Knicks president Steve Mills: “Obviously Scott and I are not happy right now.” Mills said they still believe in the coaching staff but acknowledges that they haven’t played to the level that they expect. He and Scott Perry are addressing reporters after 21-pt loss, which is rare

The buck stops at the front office, who assembled this team, albeit not well. But if the struggles continue throughout the season, Fizdale will ultimately end up being the fall guy.
