Ever since his retirement from the NBA in 2016, Kobe Bryant has stayed away from the sports world and branched out into the entertainment business, winning an Academy Award for his animated short film "Dear Basketball" in 2018. However, a return to sports could be in the works for the former five-time NBA Champion. During an appearance on CNBC on Thursday, Bryant was asked about potentially owning a team, and the former Los Angeles Lakers legend declined to answer the question, but hinted at it being a possibility.

"I'll let [business partner Jeff Stibel] answer the question, 'cause I don't want myself into hot water yet," Bryant said around the six minute mark.

The comments from Bryant are interesting, as in an interview with Slam Magazine back in March, the former NBA star said he had no desire in becoming a general manager or owning a team.

Bryant stresses that owning a team will have to be deemed by himself and Stibel as a "smart decision." So, if the right situation presents itself, we may soon refer to him as "Kobe Bryant: Team Owner."
