VIDEO: Kris Bryant Absolutely Freaked Out When Lightning Struck at Wrigley Field
By Jared Kish
The Braves and Cubs game at Wrigley Field was put on hold last night due to severe storms before finally resuming, ending in a 5-3 victory for the visitors. Some members of the Cubs chose to stay in the dugout throughout the delay as lightning and thunder moved past Wrigley. After a bolt of lightning and some booming thunder, Kris Bryant was hilariously seen cowering in fear in the dugout.
Thats Cubs third baseman was absolutely freaking out, as he lifted his arms to protect his face -- a pretty effective tactic -- before booking it down towards the clubhouse.
For a player who is feared by most pitchers, it's pretty comical to see that Mother Nature can so easily get under his skin. Sure, he can stand in the box and face some of the hardest throwing hurlers in the league, but a bit of thunder and lightning had him jetting for safety.
Anyone who lives in Chicago knows just how quickly the weather can change. And baseball fans have been privy to that of late. Wednesday's game started off with some beautiful scenery, but before long, a massive thunder storm consumed the area.
Bryant should be used to a little bit of thunder and lightning, but even after spending five years in the Windy City, it doesn't seem like he's fully accustomed to it.
