VIDEO: Kyle Long Wants to Follow in Tony Romo's Footsteps as the Next Great NFL Commentator
By Jack Murphy
Former Chicago Bears offensive tackle Kyle Long has announced after 2019 that he had played his last down of professional football. However, while his playing days are over, Long may not be gone from the game entirely. He wants to take the same route of many NFL players by becoming a commentator, as he told TMZ.
Of course, former Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is often mentioned as the premier example of an ex-player making good in the broadcast booth, as he often shows an ability to predict which plays an offense is going to run live on CBS.
Whether Long has the analytical IQ of Romo is not yet know, but it's not a bad idea to aim high.
Long thinks he can excel at explaining the game to the "simpletons." There's certainly a market for that! Don't count him out in his quest to break into the booth.
