VIDEO: Kyle Shanahan Predicting Plays the Way He Learned From His Dad is Kind of Adorable
By Jerry Trotta

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan has been on the receiving end of an outpouring of plaudits for the masterful gameplan he devised against the Green Bay Packers in Sunday's NFC Championship. Now, a mind-boggling piece of footage has emerged from the sidelines of that clash that will only hasten the rate of acclaim. The 40-year-old prodigy took a page out of his father's playbook by brilliantly predicting a Packers holding penalty on a George Kittle route while conversing with an official.
I’ve seen his father do this so many times. I asked Kyle about predicting plays and he said he learned it holding his dad‘s headset cord! pic.twitter.com/sqv7sLEZ7C

That's a type of swagger that most NFL coaches simply do not flaunt, and he learned it all from his father, Mike, a two-time Super Bowl champ with the Denver Broncos.
Campaigning for a ref to throw a flag after a play is expected from most coaches. The fact that Shanahan is so well-informed with his playbook that he's able to forecast a mismatch and subsequent penalty proves that he's in a league of his own.

“He’s a dick”

Sounds about right.
In hindsight, it's pretty adorable that Kyle follows so closely in his pops' footsteps, and makes you want to pull for his 49ers that much more.
