VIDEO: Kyrie Irving Hits Clutch 3 With RJ Barrett All Over Him as Nets Take Late 4th Quarter Lead
By Karl Rasmussen
The Nets were out in front for much of the first half of this one, but the Knicks weren't going down quietly. In what ended up being a heated back-and-forth battle, the game went down to the wire. And no wants the ball in their hands more than Kyrie Irving with the game on the line, as he crossed up RJ Barrett and launched a contested 3 with the rookie smothering him. Irving somehow buried the jumper to give the Nets a one-point lead with 11.2 seconds left on the clock.
Talk about a big time shot. Irving came up short on his game-winner in his Nets debut against the Timberwolves, but he didn't hesitate to launch another crunch-time jumper. And this time the results were there.
The Nets were able to fend off the Knicks from there out and take home a 113-109 victory, Kyrie's first W in Brooklyn.
