VIDEO: Lonzo Ball Has a New Jump Shot and it Looks a Lot Better
By Chris Pyo
Ladies and gentlemen, after years of watching Lonzo Ball shoot the ball with perhaps one of the most awkward shooting forms of all time, it looks he's finally fixed it. Ball was shooting around at Pelicans' practice on Tuesday, and his form looks vastly improved from what we've seen in seasons past.
No more shooting the ball from the side of the head. No more sideways follow-through. This appears to be a clean, crisp and normal jump shot. And boy, does that ball look good going through that hoop.
Pelicans fans who were expecting to see Ball's shoddy jump shots clank off the side of the rim? You might be receiving a surprise this season.
While this was an NBA player shooting uncontested jumpers at practice, and is no reason to get carried away, it's still a noticeable change from his old form.
After going through a brutal sophomore season that culminated in being traded to the New Orleans Pelicans as part of a package for Anthony Davis, Ball seems to have fully regrouped and recovered from his injury.
Now, he'll be able to focus on what really matters: Bringing the Pelicans to the playoffs along with Brandon Ingram, Jrue Holliday and, of course, Zion Williamson.
Hopefully Ball will see some improvement on his shot throughout the season, and if this practice clip is anything to go by, it looks like he's been working on his jumper this offseason.
