Have a pack of tissues nearby, folks. This one isn't going to be easy to stomach. Tragedy struck the baseball world on Monday when the Los Angeles Angels announced that starting pitcher Tyler Skaggs passed away in Texas. Southlake Police released a statement in regards to his passing and have yet to determined the cause of his death, but an investigation is still being conducted. In the meantime, however, several players and reporters took the time to post touching memoriam's on the shocking news. And now, a Tyler Skaggs memorial is underway at Angels Stadium, where fans were seen laying flowers and other memorabilia in remembrance and honor of the 27-year-old.
Beautiful, and equally heartbreaking.
To say that Skaggs was a beloved presence in the Angels clubhouse and baseball community in general wouldn't even begin to depict the immense manner in which the news of his death struck the sports world.
It's no wonder countless players, officials, reports, and teams across the sport publicly mourned his loss.
We can only expect the number of flowers in front of Angels Stadium to grow astronomically with each passing hour as fans mourn the loss of the pitcher who grew up just around the corner in Woodland Hills.
