If you can produce under the bright lights of New York, you can produce anywhere. Lourdes Gurriel Jr. is doing just that on Wednesday, as he gave his Toronto Blue Jays an early lead after going bridge in the first inning for a three-run blast. In a tie game in the fifth inning, Gurriel came through once again and took Yankees starter James Paxton deep for the second time. Take a look:
Find me a player who is hotter than this guy. Coming into the game, Gurriel was slugging over .600 over his last seven games with two home runs, but he doubled that total on Wednesday with a couple of bombs in the Bronx.
The Jays infielder has quickly become part of their young core with Vladimir Gurrero Jr. and Cavan Biggio. The younger brother of Houston Astros first baseman Yuli Gurriel is becoming a superstar right in front of our eyes.
