VIDEO: Luke Voit Running Out a Triple is a Delightful Sight
By James.r

Yankees slugger Luke Voit hit his first career triple on Wednesday, and it was quite a sight to behold. The 6-3, 225 pounder definitely did not look like Billy Hamilton out there as he huffed around second base and stretched for third.

Those first 90 feet definitely lacked some effort, but once he turned past first base, he started using his big-man momentum to get cooking on his way to beating out what ended up being a close play. Give Voit credit for even trying for three bags there; most 225-pound men may have saved their breath and been satisfied with a stand-up double.

Voit added a monster home run to his tally as well during the Yankees' 7-0 drubbing of the Padres, bringing his total to 14 on the season. He has been a massive addition (literally and figuratively) since the Yankees traded for him last summer, especially with back-to-back disappointing seasons from Greg Bird in the first base spot.
I think I speak for everyone when I say that the more Luke Voit triples we get to watch, the better. It's not quite as fun as watching Bartolo Colon round the bags, but with Big Sexy still unsigned, it's about as close as we can get.
