VIDEO: Marcus Smart Pranks Celtics Rookie Romeo Langford at Chipotle With Massive Fake Order
By Andy Loughmiller
Rookie hazing always makes for great content, doesn't it? Some pro sports veterans are reasonable with their treatment of first-year teammates, but others, such as Boston Celtics guard Marcus Smart, enjoy pranking first-year players in intricate, diabolical ways. In this case, he pranked Romeo Langford with an assist from Chipotle.
Langford got a taste of what its like to be a rookie in the NBA when Smart made him believe that he had been tasked with picking up and paying for... yes, 320 Chipotle burritos on behalf of the entire team and staff.
The tab? Only $4,500.
Langford was visibly shaken when the cashier told him how much the order would cost. Who wouldn't be? That's a lot of money for some grab-and-go food. Thankfully for him, Smart was waiting around the corner to let the tenderfoot shooting guard know that it was all just part of a joke.
Smart may have let Langford off the hook this time, but after seeing the rookie's reaction to his Chipotle stunt, we have a feeling this wont be the last time he is on the receiving end of a prank.
It's nice to see that even professional athletes enjoy a good old fashioned practical joke as much as the rest of us. Kudos to Langford for being a good sport.
