New York Yankees legendary closer Mariano Rivera was never known for his strong bat during his playing days. Hell, he only ever made nine plate appearances across his 19-year career. But at New York's Old Timers' Day, Rivera showcased his hitting ability along with some nifty base running, hitting an inside-the-park home run.
After going his entire career without hitting a single home run, Rivera undoubtedly made it his mission to get one under his belt in this at bat. He made a name for himself with his deadly cutter throughout his Hall of fame career, making this homer all the more fun to watch.
The special moment made the Old Timers' Day even more fun for Yankees fans, as Mariano is one of the most beloved players to ever done the pinstripes, and to see him mashing with the lumber was truly a sight to behold.
