VIDEO: Mariners Prospect Jarred Kelenic Effortlessly Snaps His Bat After Strikeout
By Karl Rasmussen
So, maybe the Mets shouldn't have traded this guy. Seattle Mariners top prospect Jarred Kelenic, who came over as part of the Robinson Cano trade, is an absolute tank. The 20-year-old struck out during an at-bat for Double-A Arkansas, and on his way back to the dugout, he snapped his bat like it was a tooth pick.
Okay, that really didn't look natural. Most players would need to snap a bat over their leg in order for it to break in half, and even then sometimes the bat doesn't snap.
Kelenic? He casually snapped his lumber in two while walking back to the dugout without breaking stride.
He's been showing off his power at the plate all season long, but this elementary demolition of his bat may be more impressive than any of his 23 minor-league homers in 2019.
Kelenic is looking like a star in the making, and he just snapped that bat as if it were a pencil.
