VIDEO: Marlins Minor League Manager Angrily Pulls Righty Hitter Who Attempted to Bat Lefty
By Ryan Flores
Well this is odd. During a minor league game between the Triple-A affiliates of the Miami Marlins and the Los Angeles Dodgers, Marlins prospect Monte Harrison was pulled from the game after attempting to bat from the left side of the plate. He's primarily a right-handed bat, and his skipper looked less than pleased when stalling the game to address the situation.
It's a mystery as to why Harrison would go up to bat left-handed. Whatever he was trying to do clearly wasn't planned, as the manager pulled him from the game before a pitch was thrown. Harrison was visibly upset, throwing his bat and helmet before storming off into the clubhouse.
You can even see his teammate, who was called upon to pinch hit for him, awkwardly slide on his batting gloves as Harrison's mini-tantrum ensues.
Next time, try not to pull any shenanigans, Monte.
