The 2019 Women's World Cup Quarterfinals couldn't have started better for the United States. After raising some eyebrows and drawing the ire of President Donald Trump by refusing to go to the White House should the Americans repeat as champions, Megan Rapinoe put the USA up against host nation France 1-0 in the fifth minute with a free kick goal that left the crowd in Rennes stunned.

This sublime free kick was Rapinoe's fourth goal of the tournament. This game marks the third different matchup in which she's found the back of the net.
Rapinoe has shined brightest in the elimination rounds, scoring both goals in a 2-1 win against Spain while giving the Americans a quick lead in France on Friday.

Playing against the likes of Eugenie Le Sommer and Wendie Renard on their home turf is among the most daunting tasks at this stage of the tournament, but Rapinoe and the United States look more than up for the job.
