VIDEO: Mets Announcer Gary Cohen Has Unreal Voice Crack After Juan Lagares Grand Slam
By Kevin Aquino
The Mets are up big on the Diamondbacks, thanks in no small part to Juan Lagares and his cold-blooded grand slam. As the Wild Card race tightens a little further, New York play-by-play man Gary Cohen couldn't hold his excitement back, as he let out a shriek of sheer joy when contact was made.
Apologies to headphone-wearers on this one -- Citi Field was absolutely rocking as soon as the bat cracked. And we have to shout out Lagares' point at the camera as he made his way around the bases, too.
New York has a big lead on Arizona as they look to break free from the third-place tie with the Phillies in the NL Wild Card race and sneak into the MLB playoffs. Todd Frazier also contributed to the Mets' current 7-0 lead with a two-run homer in the first inning.
