VIDEO: Mets' Jason Vargas Claims 'All the Info Wasn't Out There' Regarding Incident With Reporter
By Thomas Carannante
The New York Mets blew yet another lead that resulted in a heartbreaking loss. The bigger story? Their fans somehow exist. But on par with that is Jason Vargas' inability to formulate even the fakest of apologies after the widely reported incident with Newsday's Tim Healey. After his impressive outing that was spoiled in the team's loss to the Phillies, Vargas' comments on the development on Sunday continued the bizarre narrative.
Vargas, who has been criticized -- even by Mets' broadcaster Gary Cohen -- for not apologizing to Healey, is now claiming "all of the info wasn't out there" regarding what had happened. Fair. But why have you not told yours, especially after GM Brodie Van Wagenen expressed his disappointment with all of it? He certainly didn't speak to the media to voice that about Healey.
The bullpen blows it. Mets lose. Vargas claims there something else we don't know about and won't apologize. Those seem to be the constants in Queens this year.
