VIDEO: Mets' Pete Alonso Crushes Home Run into the Shrubs at Marlins Park
By Brendan Azoff
Pete Alonso is at it again, teeing off on the Marlins for his 13th home run of the season. This one, an opposite field rip to right-center field in the second inning of Friday night's game.
Alonso's raw power is unreal, as an off-balance swing that looked more like a desperation attempt at contact ended up traveling 417 feet and left the yard. Alonso looks primed for an incredible season, one that reminds baseball fans of another New York phenom in Aaron Judge.
The Mets first baseman has the NL Rookie of the Year on his mind, and if he continues hitting bombs like this he may just claim that title.
