VIDEO: Mets' Star Slugger Pete Alonso Gifts Jerry Seinfeld Autographed Bat
By Scott Rogust
Friday is an important day in pop culture history. We're talking about the 30th anniversary of the hit sitcom "Seinfeld." Comedian Jerry Seinfeld is a diehard New York Mets fan, so it was only fitting that the team held "Seinfeld Night" at Citi Field on Friday, where the first 25,000 fans received a commemorative bobblehead. Prior to the game, Mets rookie slugger and All-Star Pete Alonso gifted Seinfeld with an autographed bat.
Seinfeld, being the comedian he is, asks if Alonso actually used the bat. Alonso quipped back that he wanted to present him with a "nice and pretty one."
The Mets hold a special place in the heart of Seinfeld, and the team returned the favor by giving him his own night, and an autographed bat from arguably the Mets' biggest star.
